Principle and Director HOD Dr. Anil Kumar Anand is a highly distinguished Radiation Oncologist with over 31 years of extensive clinical experience, recognized for his expertise in advanced radiation therapies and his contribution to cancer care in India and abroad. Over the course of his career, he has successfully performed thousands of complex radiotherapy procedures, including cutting-edge techniques for some of the most challenging cancer cases. Dr. Anand completed his MBBS from Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana, followed by an MD in Radiotherapy and Oncology from the prestigious Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh. To further enhance his skillset, he underwent specialized training in Radiation Therapy at the New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens (USA) and advanced training in Head & Neck Cancer Radiotherapy from The Middlesex Hospital Medical School, London. He joined Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI), Gurugram after an esteemed tenure at Max Hospital, Saket, where he served as the Principal Director – Radiation Oncology since 2009. He has also been associated with many leading cancer institutions, including the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, Batra Hospital & Medical Research Centre, New Delhi, and PGI Chandigarh. Dr. Anand is widely published in national and international journals, with his most recent scientific work focusing on Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) in recurrent head and neck cancers. He is an active member of several renowned professional bodies:  Indian Society of Oncology  American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO)  Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI)In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Anand serves as an advisor to global scientific organizations, including ICRO, the World Health Organization (WHO), and other UN-affiliated bodies. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Cancer Research and Therapeutics.
